Welcome to Equine Eden Rescue Center
Equine Eden Rescue Center is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and welfare of abused, neglected and unwanted equines of all types and conditions.

Equine Eden Grazing HorsesWe provide a safe environment for equines that have endured starvation, neglect and physical abuse. Each horse receives medical attention and daily loving human contact. We strive to rehabilitate and/or retrain each horse in the hopes that we can locate responsible, caring and loving homes. Horses unable to be adopted will live out their lives at Equine Eden or a certified foster home. Our goal is to give each horse a second chance at life, never having to endure starvation, neglect or abuse ever again.

Equine Eden Rescue Center is in operation for the love of the horse. More horse rescue organizations are needed because most animal shelters do not have the facilities to house such large animals. We provide around the clock care at the Equine Eden facility and strive to eliminate abuse and neglect by promoting responsible horse ownership through education and community awareness.

3rd annual FUZZY SWEETHEART Horse Show

Equine Eden Rescue Center held it's 3rd Annual Fuzzy Sweetheart Benefit Horse Show on Saturday, Feburary 9, 2008 and think everyone did a great job! We had people show up from Black Canyon City, Gilbert and Buckeye.

The rescue raised over $600 from the entries, t-shirts and raffle. The winner of the raffle, Brenda Keiner from Gilbert, donated her winnings of $41 dollars back to the rescue. What a wonderful woman.

Bev Patek and Cham

Bev Patek and Cham of the Western Glory Drill Team, looked lovely presenting the colors. The performance was spectacular and very moving.

The volunteers were wonderful. Everyone pitched in and gave 110% to the show. We had over 22 horse/rider combos showing, even Doc the rescue pony was used in some of the classes. Hopefully someone that was at the show saw Doc and would like to take him home. The more horses we place, the more we can save.

TechMix, Inc., of Stewart, MN, donated 3 buckets of their Equine Restart to the rescue. The buckets are valued at $66 each. Equine Restart has fatty acids, protiens and all kinds of good things to help thin horses recover faster. Thank you so much TechMix!

Our judge, Kit Townsend, did an awesome job of judging. Some of the classes had 13 entries in them. Kit is available to judge other shows, give lessons and help with pre-purchase consultations. You can contact her at

Czar got a perfect score on the bridge!
I have to tell you of a special thrill I had. One of my friends from Casa Grande showed up toward the end of the show. She asked if my gelding, Czar had ever carried a rider because she wanted to show. I told her no, but I didn't think he would mind one. So we put a natural halter on him and she climbed on and went into the open trail class. I was so excited! My gelding being ridden for the very first time and at a show to boot. And guess what! He didn't even place last in the class. He beat another horse!! I was flyin' high the rest of the day!

D.E. Strikit Rich & owner Kim Schmid
We also came up with a new class when no one entered any of the driving classes. The new class is Open Ground Driving. We had two entries. Kim's stallion DE Strikit Rich won over my gelding Czar. Most of the people there had never seen a horse ground driven. They were all going to go home and give it a try.

So would anyone want to be on a show committee? We could have a show in the fall. Contact me if your interested. You don't have to have show experience to help, just the willingness to support the rescue.

God bless you all,

Belinda
